Food: Body & Mind Connect

Updated: Sep 26, 2021

We are wired for survival. And that means food, sustenance. What used to take us most of the day, now only takes minutes. Do your minutes count for good or ill?

Few people alive today in my country remember a time when fruits and vegetables were only available as seasonal treats. Ancients, like me, remembers getting oranges and Brazil Nuts in their Christmas Stocking and being thrilled about it!

We were not poor, we were just living in a different time. A time characterized by a simple world. But the times are a changing and have changed dramatically. Food has changed so much that it would be hardly recognizable to people of the recent past.

Did our body machinery change with the fast food economy

“God is great, God is good, let us thank God for our food."

Food we consume is transformed so much that it is nearly unrecognizable as to it's origin even though it comes from some animal or some plot of land giving up it's life for you and me. If it's an animal, it gives it's life directly, whether factory raised or forest/ocean foraged. If it comes from a plot of ground, some micro-organisms gave up their lives, or at least their habitat, in order that the ear of corn, or head of broccoli or whatever could be grown bigger, without blemish or bug bite.

If a forest was "efficiently felled", then the migratory bird nests never again be built in that dead forest, the creatures great and small will not get to reproduce there and the mushrooms that thrived on the dying trees will have no place to do their miraculous work of decomposition. Fields replace forests and millions of organisms become homelessly extinguished.

What price does the Earth pay for us to have a Good Diet?

Ironically, there is a solution to the suffering. It is one problem that has been solved, but not implemented. It has it's proponents proving it daily, but the majority of the world does not recognize the saneness of it's wisdom.

the Savory Institute is making great gains.

Unique to you, but there are common markers to us all

Be original, but know that you are one of a tribe.”

I'm sure you are so different that if you had a twin, you two would still be quite unique. But then again, you would both be part of a family, a tribe..

Being a Part of your journey

I'm so honored and humbled to help anyone along the journey. I love to travel this wonderful journey of life. Good luck!
